Two Tipperary athletes represented Ireland with distinction at the SIAB Schools Track & Field International held at the Mary Peters Track, Belfast, on Saturday. The prestigious annual competition brings together the best schools athletes from Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales.

Cara Ryan (Clonmel AC) enjoyed an exceptional day of competition, securing two international medals. Ryan claimed silver in the Shot Put with a throw of 13.33m before adding a bronze medal in the Long Jump with a leap of 5.83m. Her double-medal performance was one of the standout achievements by an Irish athlete at the championships and demonstrated her remarkable versatility across both throwing and jumping disciplines.

In the same Long Jump competition, Aine Frawley (Nenagh Olympic AC) produced an excellent performance to finish 4th overall with a jump of 5.71m, narrowly missing out on a podium place. Competing against the best schools athletes from across Britain and Ireland, Frawley demonstrated her consistency and potential on the international stage.

The performances of Ryan and Frawley brought further recognition to Tipperary athletics and highlighted the strength of athlete development within the county. Their success at international level reflects the dedication of the athletes, coaches, clubs and schools that continue to support the growth of young athletics talent in Tipperary.
