Fethard Town park is the venue next Saturday night,26th April, for the County Novice B Road Championships. The women’s 3k gets proceeding underway at 7pm. Followed immediately by the men’s 6k race. Please note the new date and starting time for these Championships. These Championships are being hosted by Fethard AC. To be eligible athletes must have competed in the County Novice Road race in Dualla and must have finished outside the top eight for men and top three for women. All previous winners of this event are also ineligible. In the team events it is three to score in both the women’s and men’s races. Both races should be competitive as there were exceptionally good entries in the County Novice in Dualla last month.

In the women’s race athletes like Catherine Fogarty and Emily Leahy of Dundrum, Pauline Hendriksen of Fethard AC and Lisa Quinlan of Moyne AC will have a say in the destination of the medals. In the team event, Fethard will be determined to retain this cup for another year as they will be looking to athletes like Barabra Ryan and Carol Molloy to carry their colours to glory. They will face good competition from Dundrum AC, Thurles Crokes and Dualla Ballytarsna Boherlahan AC.

The Men’s 6k race should also be competitive. Here athletes to watch out for include the Thurles Crokes trio of Denis McCullagh, Shane Moloney and John Russell, The Fethard AC duo of Michael Power and James Maher as well as Aaron Moore of Moyne AC, Michael Gleeson of Templemore AC and Joey Feery of Clonmel AC. In the team event Thurles Crokes look strong with the above-mentioned names. They will face good competition from Moyne AC, Fethard AC, Carrick on Suir AC Dundrum AC and Mooreabbey Milers AC.
