Munster Road Championships

The Road Championship season gets underway in earnest next Sunday with the Munster Road Championships taking place in Ballinameela County Waterford and hosted by West Waterford AC. The distance for both races is four miles. The women race gets underway at 12 noon with the Men’s race starting at 12.45pm.

Each race will consist of the following categories, Novice, Senior and Masters, the Masters event will have the following categories: over 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75 and 80. Novice and Seniors is over sixteen. There are also interclub and inter County team events for Novice, Seniors, Masters under 50, Masters over 50 and Masters over 65. The race headquarters is at the Ballinameela Community Centre X35 D280.

Over the years County athletes have performed very well in these Championships in all the various categories. Indeed, this is an ideal opportunity for County athletes to fine tune their training for the upcoming County Road Championships which gets underway in Boherlahan on Sunday 8^th march where the County Novice Road titles will be decided.

County Road Championship Fixtures

The County Novice road championship 6k men and 3k women kindly hosted by DBB AC at Dualla community centre Eircode E25 NX92 on Sunday 9th of March. Entries at now open for this event.

The County Intermediate road championships 8k men 4k women will be hosted by Mooreabbey Milers in Galbally on Sunday 30th of March.

 

The County Senior and junior championships will be held in Dundrum on Sunday the 6th of April 10k men 5k women 3k Juniors.

 

The County Masters 6k for men and women over 35, with 3k for men and women over 65 will be hosted by Clonmel on April 13^th.

 

The County Novice B will be hosted by Fethard on April 27th 6k men and 3k women. Athletes must have participated in and finished the Novice race on March 9th and finished outside the top 8 for men and top 3 for women to be eligible.

 

All the above races are a 12 noon start.
